Working Hard at Fastenal

After being self employed for the past 7 years, I bit the bullet and got a “real job”. There are some benefits to having a J-O-B. One of the benefits for our family was getting better health insurance. Having a deposit magically appear in the bank every two weeks can be nice also. Fastenal has been a good solid company to work for, they have great training and a reliable product. I have been working outside sales for them since July 2012.

How does this relate to bird dogs? Well, one of the reasons I applied with Fastenal is they have 2400 branches in the USA. The opportunity for moving our family/kennel to better bird dog country is excellent. The wild bird population in Utah is not the greatest. We have always wanted to move to the midwest and see a different part of the Country. Where would you live if you could pick anywhere in the lower 48 States?

If you like duck, goose, and pheasant hunting Bismarck ND is hard to beat! The winters can be long but the summer and fall are hard to beat. The bird hunting is excellent the only issue is most hunting takes place on private property with the balance on state and federal lands

Honestly, I would move (or live near) to Cambridge, Idaho. Of all of the places in the United States and all of the places I’ve hunted, Cambridge has had the most variety in birds and has provided the best hunting.
