Passing on Positive Genetic Traits

By April 24, 2012 Dog Breeding

Ben Garcia Training Orlando Puppy We went to pick up Lizzy this past week as she was in Colorado being bred to Orlando (Windtuck’s Say My Name). It is always fun to visit with pro trainer Ben Garcia and the 5,000 private acres where he trains bird dogs. While visiting and watching him work a gentleman stopped by to chat. He had purchased a puppy from one of Orlando’s previous litters and brought him out for a run. I was excited for the chance to watch one of Orlando’s offspring work birds. There are a lot of things you cannot tell from a picture or description. I was pleased with the confidence in this young male. He had a lot of drive like his sire and was exciting to watch. I am looking forward to Lizzy and Orlando’s forthcoming litter due around the first of June. They should have some excellent genetic traits passed down from their parentage. All the puppies are spoken for.
